The blend of tones on Begonia 'Apricot Fiery Shades' is captivating

If you’re looking for a set-it-and-forget-it kind of plant that delivers months of non-stop colour, this begonia is your answer.

The British summer can be anything but predictable - one minute it’s blazing sunshine, the next it’s pouring rain. No problem for Begonia ‘Apricot Fiery Shades’! These robust, weatherproof flowers can withstand rain, wind, and heat, keeping your displays looking pristine no matter what the skies have in store.

The warm tones in this mix transition beautifully throughout the season, giving your baskets and pots a rich, layered effect that never looks overdone. Unlike some bedding plants that fade or look washed out, these bold colours intensify as the season progresses, ensuring your garden remains vibrant from May to October.

Easy To Grow, Easy To Adore!

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, these tuber-grown begonias are practically foolproof. Unlike cuttings, tubers give you a head start, meaning you’ll enjoy earlier blooms and stronger plants.

With their naturally trailing habit, these begonias are made for hanging baskets and patio pots. They cascade effortlessly, filling every inch of space with luxurious colour. And because they’re so full of life, they don’t need companion plants - this mix creates a complete, eye-catching display all on its own.

Fancy Growing Your Own Begonia ‘Apricot Fiery Shades’ This Year? Here’s Some Expert Planting Tips

  • Begonia ‘Apricot Fiery Shades’ grows well in sun and shade, and its trailing habit makes it perfect for growing in pots and hanging baskets.
  • Begonia tubers will start into growth from February onwards. The easiest way is to put them into shallow tray with good quality, moistened compost.
  • Plant the tubers with the domed side downwards and the hollow uppermost. Shoots will start to emerge depending on temperature. We recommend that you start them off in a warm room.
  • As soon as the shoots of the tubers are about 2cm long pot them up in 15cm pots. As soon as the roots reach the sides of the pot, they're ready to go into baskets. Alternatively, you can plant the tubers straight into baskets and tubs where they are to flower and grow them on in warm, frost-free conditions.
  • Outside, grow in full sun or partial shaded areas. The sunnier the site, the more vibrant the colours will be.
  • Feed once every two weeks with a high potassium feed while in flower, and deadhead regularly to encourage further flowers.
  • For best results keep plants well-watered, and feed fortnightly with a high-potash fertiliser to prolong flowering. Take care not to over-water, as this will cause new Begonia flower buds to drop.
  • Deadhead the single female flowers to encourage more of the large double male flowers to be produced and to extend the flowering period.
